Some pretty big news there, since they axed most of the lead staff members for sucking it up at launch.
The announcement that the game is under a free system until they deem it fixed is pretty interesting too, they drastically improved upon the game during the Nov update and I hope the Dec update is even more so.
I wonder, since most of the FFXIV staff got demoted, and it looks like most of the XI staff are taking over the lead positions... I wonder how they will direct the game.
Either way I'm glad to see SE show some heavy support into this game and not totally give up on it.

kinda sad realy did they realy think they could have maintaing 14 with name alone? and extending free membership again is kinda over doin it.. they trying to hard to please making me feel like this game will crash and burn with them giving up ps3 delay is also fishy
I havent realy tried the update sure its prob great but in the long run i doubt its gona make much dif with the new mmo competition like KOTOR i cant wait for that game and will prob chose it over 14 at this rate
oh yeah imo i dont think we will see FF14 potential till the first expansion

Doesn't really surprise me for them to Delay the PS3 version at this point. With the shift in teams comes a shift in focus as well. I would guess they are putting more resources into the PC version and to make it worth while. They said the update is still on track for Mid December, so I would think it would be out next week, and also a second update between the holidays.
You should give it a try again, I mean the KOTOR MMO is still 8 months away at the very least. And SE has really given it a big boost recently, and with the December update hopefully going further I'd say it would be a much more complete game, well aside from the Chocobo's and Airships.
On a Update note: I thought it would take long too, but the bullk of the entire update from November was like 200mb, so it doesnt take 8 hrs like an big XI update.

eventualy >.< im to hook atm with my 360 havent found the time to download the patch dont get me wrong i still have hope for the game i just dont want to play yet till i find a way to manage my time
oh and about the ps3 version its prob they know that if it goes on sale now it wont do well why waste time and $ on production now and that change in teams kinda worries me that can go eather way dif vision of the game and stuff

I'm thinking that with this new team and the two updates this month, we could expect to start paying for the game come Jan/Feb. I expect the game will be about what it should have been at launch at the end of the month. Right now, I'm actually ok with it. Don't think that if it stay the way it is, i'll play for years, but it's fun enough right now.
Bit excited to see what this new team has in store for us though.
